Former Channel 10 Reporter Lynzi DeLuccia Joins Half Street Group
Lynzi DeLuccia, an award-winning former journalist, is joining Half Street Group. DeLuccia most recently led internal communications at Johnson & Wales University and launched a number of content platforms for the university, including a highly regarded podcast spotlighting faculty, alumni, and students. Her first day with the firm will be Monday.
“Lynzi’s understanding of and commitment to storytelling will add immediate value to our clients,” said Half Street Group founder and president Mike Raia. “She’s built a strong reputation in this market for her ability to drive compelling narratives and shine a light on important stories.”
Before joining the JWU communications team, DeLuccia was an on-air broadcast journalist and did stints in several Northeast markets, including two years as a reporter and anchor for WJAR-TV Channel 10 in Providence where she was part of a team that earned Edward R. Murrow and Associated Press honors for overall excellence and outstanding newscast. While at Channel 10, DeLuccia covered the state’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic and reported on issues surrounding public safety and the emerging housing crisis.
At JWU, DeLuccia revitalized the University’s internal communications efforts and played a leading role developing major strategic institutional campaigns, including the University’s Powered by Purpose and Powered by Possibility strategic plans and the rollout of a three-year bachelor's degree.
“I love crafting messages that truly connect organizations with their communities. Half Street Group’s mission-driven clients motivate me to help them find their voice and join the larger conversation,” said DeLuccia.
Half Street Group celebrated its fifth anniversary this year and earned a number of awards, including a Bell Ringer Silver Bell Award for its work planning the steelraising and topping off ceremony at Centerville Bank Stadium and a Bell Ringer Bronze Bell Award for nonprofit and education campaigns on behalf of Crossroads Rhode Island. Additionally, Half Street Group was recognized by Providence Business News for the second year in a row as Rhode Island’s fastest growing small business.
