Fall 2025 Internship Opportunity

(Part-Time Paid Internship)

Half Street Group, one of Rhode Island’s fastest growing strategic communications and public relations agencies, is searching for part-time, paid interns to support its public relations practice. These positions offer hands-on experience in media relations, event planning, digital communications, and social media strategy. Applicants should share the forward-looking, socially-conscious values that our clients cherish.

This internship will run from September through December 2025, with flexible start and end dates based on academic schedules. This role will be in-person only. Half Street has an office on South Main Street in Downtown Providence steps from Plant City and the Michael Van Leesten Memorial Pedestrian Bridge.

PR & Event Intern

Position Summary:
The PR & Event Intern will assist in planning and executing client events, managing media relations, and supporting public-facing communications efforts. This role offers the opportunity to gain experience in event coordination, community engagement, and media outreach while working closely with Half Street’s PR Account Director, Account Executives, and Digital & Social Media Specialist.

Responsibilities:

  • Support event planning by attending team and client meetings

  • Assist with event logistics, including coordinating vendors, managing RSVPs, and organizing event materials

  • Provide on-site support during client events, ensuring smooth execution and audience engagement

  • Develop social media content and graphics for event promotion

  • Proofread and edit public-facing materials, including press releases and client communications

  • Conduct media monitoring and compile post-event client coverage reports

    Preferred Qualifications & Skills:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite; experience with Canva or Adobe Creative Suite is a plus

  • Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment

  • Passion for working with mission-driven organizations that create positive change

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with a team
